But did you know that your membership also gives you access to discounts at zoos and aquariums across the country? Thanks to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Reciprocal Program, your membership can unlock discounted admission to more than 200 AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums nationwide. It’s the perfect way to explore more attractions while saving money!
What is the AZA Reciprocal Program?
The AZA is an organization that accredits zoos and aquariums. The AZA reciprocal program allows members of these zoos and aquariums to receive discounted or free admission at other participating institutions. The program is designed to encourage learning, exploration, and support for wildlife conservation across the country.
As a member of Brevard Zoo or Palm Beach Zoo, you are automatically enrolled in the AZA Reciprocal Program, which means you can enjoy access to a wide range of other AZA-accredited zoos, aquariums, and animal parks - without paying full admission.
How Does It Work?
To take advantage of this perk, all you need is your current Brevard Zoo or Palm Beach Zoo membership card. To decide on your destination, check the AZA list to see the participating zoos and aquariums. Brevard and Palm Beach Zoo members received a 50% discount on admission to attractions on the list.
One thing to keep in mind before taking advantage of the reciprocal program: always call ahead! There are some exceptions to the program (such as zoos that are close to each other), so make sure you call the attraction you plan to visit to find out their current policies regarding reciprocal admissions.

The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne in is one of my favorite places to take my kids. This is the third year we've had an annual membership, and we get a lot of use out of it. It's an easy day trip for us, and we can choose our pace for the day. The Brevard Zoo has a splash pad, playground, amazing animals, a small train ride, animal encounters, and more!
We also recently visited the Palm Beach Zoo on a school field trip. We had a blast looking at the animals, feeding the birds, going on the carousel, playing on the playground, and splashing in the fountains.
Check out the zoos' websites, plan a day trip, and experience one for the day! If your family loves their visit, a membership can be a cost-effective way to enjoy family outings year-round. Most annual memberships pay for themselves within a couple of visits and may also include other perks.
