FireFest Returns to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, October 19th

On October 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM a fun-filled family event will take place at Jonathan Dickinson State Park: The 18th Annual FireFest.

FireFest is day-long celebration that promises fun for all ages with activities ranging from live fire demos to rides, a spooky trail, a pumpkin patch, a kids zone, live music, and more!

Admission to FireFest is just the $6 park entry fee. Optional costs include: swamp buggy tours, hayrides, bounce houses, and pumpkin with craft kit. Tickets for these optional activities can be purchased at friendsofjdsp.org/firefest.

FireFest 2024 is a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, learn about local wildlife, and engage in a variety of entertainment and enlightening activities.


Schedule of Events and Planned Activities

Prescribed Burn Demonstrations (Smoke present during fire demos)

  • Spray a Fire Hose: 1 PM - 3:00 PM*
  • Prescribed Day Burn Demo: 3:00 PM*
  • Fire Buckets: 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM*
  • Prescribed Night Burn Demo: 7:00 PM*
