Martin County School District and Martin County Education
Association Reach Tentative Salary Agreement for 2024-2025

The Martin County School District (MCSD) and the Martin County Education Association (MCEA) are pleased to announce a tentative salary agreement for the 2024-2025 school year. This agreement, reached before the first day of school, positions the MCSD to become the highest-paying school district for starting teacher pay on the Treasure Coast, pending Board ratification.

Over the coming weeks, the MCSD and MCEA will continue negotiations to discuss health insurance and salary supplements. Once both parties tentatively agree on all contractual variables, the agreement will need to be ratified by MCEA members and then by the Martin County School Board before union members begin to see retroactive payments.

The key components of the tentatively agreed upon salary adjustment include:

  • An across the board raise awarding each bargaining unit-eligible member a 3.1% salary increase.
  • Performance Pay in the following amounts:
    • Annual Contract: Highly Effective - $100
    • Annual Contract: Effective - $75
    • Professional Services Contract: Highly Effective - $75
    • Professional Services Contract: Effective - $50

"This tentative agreement reflects our unwavering commitment to valuing and supporting our educators," said Superintendent Michael Maine. "We are not only investing in our teachers but also in the future of our students. We believe that competitive compensation is crucial for attracting and retaining the best educators, and we are proud of the collaborative efforts that have led to this milestone."

The tentative raises were calculated by pooling together $1,161,512.91 of Teacher Salary Increase Allocation (TSIA) funds from the State, and $1,300,000.00 from the District, resulting in a total of $2,461,512.91 being devoted to salary increases and performance pay raises.
