- All About the Brain Class | Ages 5 - 11

Wednesdays, November 29th, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM | $15
In this special class on neurology, kids will learn about the brain through some hands-on activities. We will learn the lobes and sections of the brain, the functions of each lobe, and build a brain model using clay as well as build a brain “cap” (which they will get to take home). In this special class on wilderness medicine, kids will learn about hypothermia through some hands-on activities. We will learn what hypothermia is, how to identify different types of hypothermia, and role-play how to administer first aid for hypothermia using a thermal blanket (which they will get to take home). In this special class on veterinary medicine, kids will learn about physical exams for dogs through some hands-on activities. They will learn how to conduct a nose-to-tail exam, assess dogs breed, size, and characteristics, and practice these skills on a plushie patient (which they will get to take home). This class is a great way to introduce topics about animals to preschoolers. At the end of this class, we will also send kids home with a worksheet they can do with you at home to talk about dog behavior to identify what kinds of dogs are approachable or not. Little Medical School teachings are based on STEM principles. We aim to ignite the passion of future healthcare heroes and get them excited about how the body works, as well as the importance of health! Your child will return home with materials to show you what they learned. Of note, all the necessary materials for each class are provided to students.
Board-certified physicians and experts in the field of child education have collaborated to write our curriculum. Our instructors are well-trained and they have an interest in health sciences and education. They will deliver fun, engaging, and interactive content. Additionally, all our instructors are background checked.
