ArtsFest Awarded Top Tourism Event for Fifth Consecutive Year

February 4, 2020

The Martin County Office of Tourism and Marketing is pleased to announce that ArtsFest was selected as a top tourism event for February. The best events across the southeastern United States compete to receive a Top 20 designation by the Southeast Tourism Society (STS). Returning for a stunning 33rd year, ArtsFest will take place in Memorial Park in Stuart on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday, February 9th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

"ArtsFest is one of Martin County's signature events and during the 40th anniversary year for the Arts Council, which launched the event in 1988, we are proud to be bringing the internationally acclaimed Corning Museum of Glass to Stuart, Florida. Corning will be an integral part of ArtsFest performing glassmaking demos during both days of the festival. A bonus for all to attend is a chance to win a piece of glass made during the festival," said Nancy K. Turrell, Executive Director, The Arts Council of Martin County, CEO, The Arts Foundation for Martin County

"ArtsFest is a premier event for the region, providing people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds an opportunity to discover and embrace the arts," said Nerissa Okiye, Tourism Director, Martin County Office of Tourism & Marketing. "And with the only Mobile Hot Shop stop in Florida, it's a real treat for attendees to see glassblowing demonstrations by The Corning Museum of Glass Hot Glass Team," she continued.

ArtsFest 2020 will feature performing, visual and culinary arts. In addition to the Corning Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop, highlights include a Plein Air Out painting competition, a "Chopped"-style culinary competition, Off the Wall Urban Art Competition, an ARTivity zone for kids, VIP lounge and more!

The STS Top 20 Events program has highlighted events and festivals around the Southeast since 1985. Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: EscapeToTheSoutheast.com and Travel Media Press Room.
