Martin County High School Student, Christian Molina, is a remarkable and kind young man. He is an Eagle Scout and for his project last year, Christian organized and collected school supplies for Martin County teachers and students in need. The project was such a success, it inspired him to repeat the supply drive this year. The difference this year is that the drive is being done out of the kindness of Christian's heart. He saw a need in the community and wanted to do something to help.
MacDad and I met Christian and his mother, Mary, outside of the Staples in Stuart about two weeks ago. We donated a few supplies and got to talking. Christian mentioned that while he is very thankful for all of the supplies collected to date -- and he will, of course, graciously accept ANY supplies donated -- he is still in need of the following:
- 3 subject notebooks
- Expo markers
- Index cards
- Backpacks -- new or gently used
If you'd like to meet Christian and help him out with his drive, you can catch him where he'll be collecting supplies at the Staples in Stuart, 3150 SE Federal Highway (34994) on Saturday, 8/24 and 8/31 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM; and Sunday, 8/25 and 9/1 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This Sunday's date (8/25) is little more tentative for the Molinas as they have been a little under the weather and are not sure if the heat will wipe them out. If you are planning to go by Staples to meet them on Sunday, please email Mary to make sure they'll be there.
Wanting to donate but can't make it out to Staples on the dates mentions? Stuart Bowl, 1638 SE Federal Highway (34994) has a placed collection bin for Christian supply drive and you can drop donations off there during their regular business house. Can't get to Staples or Stuart Bowl but still want to donate to the cause? No worries, Christian and Mary said they will be happy to come pick up supplies from your location. To arrange a pick up, Facebook message Mary Molina or email her at email@example.com.
The supply drive runs through September 1st.
