The Barn Theatre offers a 4-week summer camp for kids who are interested in the performing arts. This year's Them is "BE A STAR."

The Barn's Summer Camp has many unique features; it provides a well-rounded theater experience where campers learn many aspects of theater, including acting, singing, dance, lighting, sound, wardrobe, make-up, management, publicity, auditioning skills and improvisational techniques. Most importantly, because the camp is limited to only 32 campers, each camper gets personalized attention, and all campers are featured in the camp’s main stage musical comedy; “Tut Tut” inspired by the life of King Tut, the 10-year old who became King of Egypt.

Camp director Kristal Eckhardt’s vision is to dedicate The Barn's summer camp to creating a collaborative learning environment with high quality education in the performing arts. Kristal’s goal is to engage campers in self-discovery, creative expression, and achieving self-confidence. “Our aim is to elicit creative self-expression, critical thinking, and artistry through our theater course offerings and main stage production as campers grow as performers, designers, and stage technicians.”

Kristal is committed to producing shows that will continue to delight, entertain, and educate audiences. In fact, five recent campers were cast in last season’s acclaimed Barn Theatre production of Mel Brook's musical “Young Frankenstein” and this year, a former camper is featured in “Jekyll & Hyde.” Chris Mazzella, President of The Barn said, “We love seeing our campers graduate to adult theatre and learn how to interact with very experienced actors from all walks of life. What a life experience for them.”

Camp enrollment is limited to 32 campers and will be determined by receipt of the $25 registration fee. So, sign your kids up today!
