Martin County School District Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)
Open Enrollment For 2019-2020 School Year Begins February 4, 2019
***New for Next School Year: VPK Program to be Offered at Bessey Creek Elementary School***
The Martin County School District's Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) will begin accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year on February 4, 2019. The program is available at select schools with limited enrollment.
VPK is an early learning program that provides developmentally appropriate instruction and activities to prepare four year olds for kindergarten and beyond by building a solid foundation for school success. To be eligible, children must be four years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which they attend VPK and must reside within an eligible home school zone. The three hour VPK program is provided at no cost to parents and the full school day program is available for a monthly cost of $234.00.
Parents will be able to apply for one of the 228 seats in the Martin County School District’s 2019-2020 VPK Program during Open Enrollment. The Open Enrollment will take place in two phases beginning on February 4, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. Open Enrollment will be completed online using the links below:

Registration for VPK is a multi-step process.
Step 1 – Parents obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee Counties (ELCIRMO). In order to obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility, parents must visit the website below to complete the online application: https://familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com.

Step 2 – Parents register their child with the Martin County School District.
A) Parents apply online to the school site that their home address is zoned for using one of the links below:

B) Parents attend an appointment with Patricia Little, VPK Family Service Liaison, to provide the following documents to complete the registration process:
- The VPK Certificate of Eligibility
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Two Proofs of Residency (FPL, Cable, utility bill, lease agreement, Mortgage, current property tax bill, deed to home, automobile insurance policy, driver’s license or State of Florida identification card with Martin County address listed.)
- State of Florida Physical Record issues by your child’s pediatrician
- State of Florida Immunization Record.
Please note the physical and immunization records do not have to be current for registration but MUST be up to date prior to beginning school on August 12, 2019.
Children who are zoned to attend one of the following schools in kindergarten based on their home address will attend their VPK program at the same site: Bessey Creek Elementary, Citrus Grove Elementary, Crystal Lake Elementary, Felix A. Williams Elementary, Hobe Sound Elementary, J.D. Parker Elementary, Jensen Beach Elementary, Palm City Elementary and Warfield Elementary.
Children who are zoned to attend Pinewood Elementary or Port Salerno Elementary will attend the VPK program offered at the Port Salerno Learning Center. Children who are zoned to attend SeaWind Elementary will attend the VPK program at Hobe Sound Elementary.
