Hawks, turtles, alligators, parrots and snakes are just some of the animals waiting to welcome guests to the annual Open House at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The public is invited to tour the Wildlife Center, enjoy the 300-acre nature preserve, and get up close and personal with the Wildlife Ambassadors---the wild creatures who are permanent residents of the Wildlife Center. Admission is free, so make sure to bring your friends and family for a “wild” time!
Throughout the day there will be activities and demonstrations, guided nature trail tours, educational programs, local art and craft exhibitors, food, and refreshments. A special feature of the day will be the release of a rehabilitated animal back into the wild.
“Our goal is to play an even more efficient and effective role in serving our wildlife and our human community,” said Treasure Coast Wildlife Center Executive Director, Dan Martinelli. “We have been hosting our Open House for 44 years now, and community support for the Center is stronger than ever! Both children and adults will enjoy the opportunity to interact with animals they might not normally see in their own backyard and learn about how the Wildlife Center cares for creatures that need our help so they can be released back into the wild and have another chance at life.”
