The Treasure Coast Wildlife Center is excited to reconnect with old friends and foster new relationships at its upcoming Open House on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited - for the first time since 2003 - to tour the new facility, connect with nature, and see the additional 300-acre expansion.  Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with the Wildlife Ambassadors – the wild creatures who are permanent residents of the Wildlife Center.  There will be other activities and demonstrations, educational programs, local exhibitors and a special release of a rehabilitated animal back into the wild.

The Treasure Coast Wildlife Center has been a cherished part of the community since it was founded in the mid-1970s. When the Wildlife Center was forced to vacate its Hobe Sound facility in 2003, where it had been operating for nearly 20 years, Audubon of Martin County generously donated a 20-acre parcel at its Loop Road Nature Preserve in Palm City to serve as the future home of the new Wildlife Center. Since then, the Wildlife Center has begun building and developing the land into a permanent facility and recently acquired 300 additional acres of conservation land.

“We have been planning the evolution of our facility and our operation for a long time. Our goal is to play an even more efficient and effective role in serving our wildlife and our human community,” said Treasure Coast Wildlife Center Executive Director, Dan Martinelli. “We are thrilled to unveil our plans for the new Wildlife Center to the public.  We will need significant support from the community to turn our vision for the new Wildlife Center into a reality.”

Visit the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center at their Open House for a sneak peek of the new facility and an opportunity to reconnect with nature. The Center is located at 8626 SW Citrus Boulevard in Palm City.
