Greetings from Connecticut!

Our whole gang (dogs and all!) headed east in our little minivan after MiniMac's performance in Sleeping Beauty last Friday evening. After a weekend visit with our Macaroni son and his beautiful wife in D.C., we continued up the coast to hang with our family in CT for a short while.

Road-tripping with kids is tough enough ("are we there yet?"), but I'm not going to lie, adding a very neurotic, 85-pound, yellow dog to the mix -- who was constantly trying to get to MacDad in the front seat -- was enough to make me vow to never, ever do a family road trip again! The thought of the trip back is making the cost of a $400 airline ticket seem cheap! Ugh!!

We are going to try something new with the calendar sections this week. As you know, only a sampling of the events for the week are imported to the eNewsletter and website each Friday; however, with so many events going on around town, even the "sampling" list is getting larger and larger and many of you are getting truncated newsletters in your inbox. What we are doing to try to solve this challenge is only import a couple of daily items to the eNewsletter you get in your inbox; then, after the issue publishes, we'll update the website each morning with the day's listings and delete the events that have passed. We'll try this out for a couple of weeks to see how it goes and if the majority of you like it, we'll keep it.

We've got lots going on in this week's edition starting with Martin County Parks and Recreation's "totally rad 80s Open Skate Party" to celebrate National Park & Recreation month! The party will take place at the Roller Rink at Halpatiokee Regional Park this Saturday (7/25/15) beginning at 6 PM. Sailfish Splash Waterpark is wrapping up Parks & Recreation month, too, with special "1980s" pricing for the remainder of July. They are also planning a "Family Splashin' Saturday" event on August 1st that you won't want to miss. You can read all about it and so much more in this week's issue, so grab a cup of your favorite beverage and take a few minutes to check out all that's happening in Martin County this week.

Have an fantastic weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
