Preparing for the Future:
High Schools Offering Summer Counseling
To Ensure Students Are on Pathway to Success

As part of its mission to educate all students for success, the Martin County School District is using a portion of its CARES grant funding to implement a summer instructional continuity plan that will provide academic counseling and support to high school students and their families.

"We recognize that academic and career counseling support is necessary to help students make the best decisions for success in high school and beyond," Chief Academic Officer Tracey Miller said. "Our summer instructional continuity plan supports the work of our high schools in ensuring all students are prepared for the upcoming school year with class schedules that provide opportunities to participate in rigorous coursework while also allowing for the exploration of interests and talents."

The purpose of the grant is to encourage high school students to explore accelerated programs, such as Cambridge AICE, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, and Career & Technical Education. School counselors, graduation coaches and teachers who support these programs will offer summer counseling hours to help students and families chart a course to success.
