6th Annual Festival Italiano to Showcase Italian-American Culture

February 27, 2015
We are just a few days away from one of the best, if not the very best, Italian Festival in Florida. The 6th Annual Festival Italiano celebration of Italian-American culture, food and music this year will move back to the Port St. Lucie Ci+vic Center “Village Square” on US 1 and Walton Road and will be held on Saturday & Sunday February 28 and March 1, 2015.

The Festival Italiano will run from 12 to 10 pm on Saturday and from Noon to 7 pm on Sunday. Admission and parking is free. The Festival Italiano has received the blessing from the City of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County.

This year we will be debuting our Festival Italiano Antique Car Show! '85 or older, only $10 to participate, $100 cash prize and a trophy/plaque. Space is limited so call 772-626-0603 to reserve your spot today.

There will be live music with the very best of Italian-American entertainers, prize drawings, a Pizza Eating and Cannoli Eating Contest, a Bocce Court (sponsored by Lowe's of Jensen Beach) and other additional activities.

Children can help break open the “pignata,” — that’s the Italian version of a “piñata” — and a Kids Zone will feature a variety of games and several bounce houses and it is FREE thanks to the sponsorship of Big Trouble Bail Bonds. For the first time Festival Italiano will host Carnival Rides. There will be a small admission fee for the rides.

The San Gennaro Festival Society of Port St. Lucie is sponsoring the event, and they offer a special invitation to “Nonna and Nonno” (Grandma and Grandpa) to be part of the fun. Food vendors will offer Italian specialties, and arts and craft vendors will present a variety of fun creations.

Part of the proceeds will benefit a local project called Discovery Dream Center, a structure that will help the entire Treasure Coast for years to come. Also, the Treasure Coast Food Bank will accept non-perishable foods and canned goods in their effort to fight hunger in the community.
