Hibiscus Children’s Center Presents the “Family Music Festival”

July 4, 2014
Join us on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Hibiscus Children’s Center “Family Music Festival.” The event will be held at Indian Riverside Park in Jensen Beach at 12Noon - 4pm. Admission and the festivities are FREE. Food and beverage are available for purchase and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to Hibiscus. Come enjoy food, drinks, face painting, storytelling, singing and dancing, and more. Hibiscus Children’s Center is excited to provide a family friendly event to our community to say thank you for supporting our mission for almost 30 years. For those not familiar with Hibiscus, this is a wonderful way to enjoy the festivities of summer and learn more at the same time. The Family Music Festival will be a great afternoon filled with incredibly talented youth and local residents sharing their hearts with us through singing and dancing.

Chair Susan Schieren and her committee of dedicated volunteers are working diligently to plan a very special afternoon.  Mr. Daryl Magill is the event emcee and an accomplished singer and entertainer. Artist Brian Sylvester has donated his talents to create the graphic artwork for promotional materials.

The performers are all donating their time and talents for this event. Many of the entertainers are youth and an inspiration to the younger generation to help others in need. They include: Jackie Steil, Jennifer Broos, Eliza Levy, Tori Lee, Sophia Surace, DJ “Turn It Up” Dancers, 4AM, Florida Arts & Dance Company, Fabulous Feet Dance Group and Wild Roses Dance Team. Other performers also donating their time and fabulous talents are Encore Dancers, Treasure Coast Tappers...and more!

About Hibiscus Children’s Center

Hibiscus Children’s Center, founded in 1985 by LaVaughn Tilton, is a non-profit organization serving Martin, Indian River, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. The mission of Hibiscus Children’s Center is to provide safety for abused, abandoned and neglected children through prevention programs, residential programs, shelter programs and recovery programs. Hibiscus accomplishes our mission through providing a safe haven to children at the Hibiscus Children’s Village in Vero Beach and the Tilton Family Children’s Shelter in Jensen Beach.

In addition, Hibiscus addresses the problem of abuse with mental health services, prevention services for families in crisis, sexual abuse services for victims and their families, and provides enhanced services for children including literacy, educational and enriching activities. The Thrift Store, located in Stuart, helps to offset costs for the programs. The Village and Shelter are funded, in part, by the Florida Department of Children and Families through Devereux Community Based Care of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. An additional $2.3 million must be raised each year by community donations, special events and grants. Hibiscus is also a United Way affiliated organization. Hibiscus speakers are available to present to your group. For more information, please contact us at (800) 403-9311 or visit HibiscusChildrensCenter.org.
