YMCA to host annual “Lunch with the Bunch”

Luncheon recognizes donors and allows them to hear stories from the children they’ve supported.

July 4, 2014

Each year, the YMCA of the Treasure Coast is able to provide quality programming for families in need with the help of funding from the community. As a thank you, the Y will be hosting its annual “Lunch with the Bunch” event in Indiantown and Port St. Lucie on July 17th (Indiantown) and 18th (Port St. Lucie). Guests will enjoy a catered lunch alongside the children who benefit from their generous support.

In Indiantown, the lunch—catered by Rines Market—will be on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from noon-1:15pm. The St. Lucie event, sponsored by Reprographic Solutions, Inc., will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 from noon-1:15. The informal-style luncheons will give the children served by Y programs, such as summer camp and swim lessons, a chance to share their experiences with guests.

“Community leaders, business owners and friends of the YMCA will get to meet and have lunch with the Y children they helped scholarship for summer camp and swim lessons,” said Shawn Keil, YMCA of the Treasure Coast District Executive Director. “It’s a terrific time to celebrate the Y Mission at work in St. Lucie County and Indiantown.”

The YMCA of the Treasure Coast strives to provide services to all families, regardless of their ability to pay. This mission would not be possible without the help of the community. A donation of $45 includes the luncheon, as well as paying for a portion of a life-saving swim lesson for one child. A business sponsorship of $250 seats a table of 4, and helps 5 children learn to swim.

For more information, or to RSVP for either luncheon, contact Shawn Keil, YMCA of the Treasure Coast District Executive Director for Indiantown, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, and Indian River counties, at 772-215-9780 or by email skeil@ymcatreasurecoast.org.
