For the uninitiated, Little Libraries are a "take a book, return a book" gathering place where community members share their favorite literature and stories. In their most basic form, a Little Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.
Thanks to the work of the Junior League of Martin County, these "Little Libraries"- which also contain information about local libraries and the importance of reading-were assembled out of bright red milk crates and pamphlet holders. Books for these libraries were graciously supplied by the Friends of the Martin County Library System's Book Depot, a volunteer-run bookstore located in Stuart whose proceeds go toward supporting MCLS events and services.

The Martin County Administration Center is one of over 30 locations hosting a Little Library. Martin County residents are encouraged to contribute to Little Libraries throughout the community with their gently used books. Book donations are also welcomed at the Children's Services Council at 101 SE Central Parkway in Stuart.
