July 3, 2015

Wow, how is it possible that the kids have been out of school for 1 month already and the 4th of July holiday is upon us? With camps, play dates, concerts, family visiting from out of town, staycations and big travel plans coming up real soon, this summer is going by faster than MacDad and I imagined. But, we vowed to make the most of this summer and we are determined to pack in as much as we can before the rigors of a new school year take hold. We hope you all are able to do the same.

In this week's issue we are featuring the area's 4th of July celebrations, including Stuart Stars & Stripes in downtown Stuart. The Martin County Library Systems is hosting their first ever FanFest at the Blake Library on July 25th. The event is for kids in grades 6 - 12 and looks to be an event they won't want to miss! Martin County Parks & Recreation Department is hosting its annual Kids Triathlon at Sailfish Splash Waterpark at the end of August and registration is now open. Participants will need to preregister and there will be no race-day registration available. Martin County Library System and the Children's Services Council of Martin County have partnered together to bring "Little Libraries" to Martin County residents and we'll tell you more about it and how you can participate.

Come See Us - We will be out at two 4th of July festivals this weekend with a cool fireworks painting craft for the kids. Janet will be at Stuart Stars and Stripes and MacDad and I will be at Freedomfest at the PSL Civic Center. If your holiday travels lead you in our direction, be sure to stop by and say hello!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
